More about San Franscisco:

San Francisco charms everyone with its architecture, music, food, climate, beautiful parks, sightseeing, and good shopping. The city that was built in the middle of 43 mountains and hills has in its scenery the Pacific sea, slopes, street performers, tall buildings that contrast with Victorian homes, important museums, large concert halls and a bridge that is considered one of the architectural wonders of the world: the Golden Gate bridge. Unlike any other American city, to explore San Francisco you don't need a car since the city is only 120 square kilometers. Among the iconic landmarks are the Golden Gate Bridge, the Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz, the Lombard Street, and Chinatown. Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and the San Francisco Bay, the city is blessed with a Mediterranean climate which makes it a tourist destination throughout the year.

Getting around in San Franscisco:

The main sight of the city is one of the most popular means of transport for tourists: the charming cable cars run through some of the steepest slopes in the Bay Area. Just like in New York, San Francisco is one of those cities where you do not need a car to visit its main sights. There are several buses lines, subways and trains that cover about 110 neighborhoods.

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) surely is the best transportation option for getting around the city.

There are pre-paid tickets from $10.00 to $20.00 that can be used within the credit system.

Cable Cars are the main tourist sight, but they are also used as a means of transport.

The cable car ticket is US$6.00. The downtown stations are the ones with easier access to it.

The Muni Metro (San Francisco Municipal Railway) - a kind of hybrid subway - has only 6 lines running for now, and it has some planned expansions.

    A ticket is $2.00.

San Francisco has many slopes, making the taxi a great option of transport although not a cheap one. You'll find taxis very easily through the city, especially in tourist spots.
